Who Doesn't Love a Little Tiffany's?

Thursday, July 26, 2012

I am finally back at it. Jose and I have been so busy lately that it leaves little time for DIY or craftiness. However, we did manage to squeeze in two projects recently (i.e. they've been done for about two weeks and I am just now writing about them). So without further ado here's what we have been up to.

In the spirit of change I finally got around to changing our front door color. Don't get me wrong I love red doors (the color of ours before). It's actually what attracted me to our house. But as the title of this post implies what girl doesn't love a little Tiffany blue. So in the spirit of change and wanting to be the only house on the street with a Tiffany blue door, I dove right in and painted the door. Now as you can imagine it wasn't an easy task covering up all that red, but a few coats of primer later and we had a white door.

Then it was on to the business of getting that lovely Tiffany blue color. The actual name of the color is Valspar's Bayside. Much to Jose's sorrow I spent an obscene amount of time in the paint isle at Lowe's gathering all possible combinations of Tiffany blue. To him however it looked as if I was gathering the exact same color over and over again but I knew each had a subtle difference to them. And in the spirit of not being too wordy (who am I kidding, I am always wordy), here is the finished product:

I do not know about you guys but I am IN LOVE! I am also super excited for all the different color combinations of wreaths I can do for the holidays as well as just because.

Have you guys taken on any painting projects lately? If so what and were you nervous before hand? I always get nervous before slapping on that first swipe of paint. I would love to hear what you think about our new face lift for outside...
