Couponing Craze

Sunday, January 9, 2011

So I know I have been utterly useless when it comes to this blogging thing. Jose and I have been so busy trying to manage a house, school, and work that the last thing I remember to do is blog. However I am hoping to change that this year. As far as the house goes not much has changed. We painted the living room and I have finally put some things up on the walls. (so it is starting to look like we live here and are not just staying here for a bit) Jose is officially a graduate of the College of Charleston and we are now working on getting things together for him to apply to law school.
We have also made a resolution to get our finances under control for this year (hence the title). I am trying to get on board with couponing. I did pretty well for my first shopping trip of the year. I went to Harris Teeter and after coupons and VIC card savings I save 104 dollars. (I still wound up spending 103 but I did not find that too bad considering.) We are also trying to get our budget under control in other ways and are starting to follow Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. This is going to be a struggle as neither of us are great at budgeting. ( I would greatly appreciate any tips and helpful pointers that have worked for you guys).
Another project we are hoping to undertake is a garden for this spring/summer. I have a black thumb so we will see how this goes. However since I have become a vegetarian it has meant finding quality produce is a must. Any gardening tips are greatly appreciated as well.
I promise to post pictures of the house and all soon. I know I have promised that for a while now but life always seems to jump in.
